Term 4 Week 6 Newsletter 6th November 2024
From the Principal
It is hard to believe we only have 5 weeks left for the term. The last 5 weeks will go very quickly. We have lots of events and activities on over the remainder of the term so please ensure you keep an eye on our Facebook, newsletters and emails.
Attendance
Thank you for supporting us with attendance and making every day count. As we enter into the final stages of term 4, we need our children in school if they are well. We have a couple of cases of whooping cough, so we do ask if you are unwell the best place is at home resting.
Planning for 2025
We are busy planning enrolments, facilities, resources and staffing for the 2025 school year. If you know you will not be with us next year could you let us know so we can factor this in our planning. If you know anyone considering Thangool for their child, please get them to contact our office as all our staffing is based on day 8 numbers and a few year levels are getting close to capacity.
Staffing for 2025

It's Your Move - Impact Coach
The 'It’s Your Move' program (formerly known as SEL) is a specialized social-emotional learning (SEL) initiative designed by Ms Hyland and Mrs Byrne for students in years 4-6 at our school. Ms. Hyland brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this program, adopting a strength-based approach that empowers students to enhance their emotional agility and resilience. The core philosophy of 'It’s Your Move' revolves around the importance of teaching the skills and knowledge to being emotionally resilient to students, providing activities that give opportunities to practice the skills and are designed to meet the needs. The uniqueness of a program lies in its tailored approach to meet the specific needs of students rather than relying solely on commercial, store-bought programs. By utilizing evidence-based practices, the program integrates the skills and expertise of experienced educators who understand the diverse learning styles and challenges of their students. This responsiveness allows for the creation of a dynamic learning environment where instruction is adapted in real-time, fostering engagement and facilitating deeper understanding. Through continuous feedback, the program ensures that it remains relevant and effective, ultimately empowering and equipping students with the tools they need to navigate their emotions, build healthy relationships, and develop crucial life skills. Research highlights that the most effective way to nurture students’ emotional intelligence is to engage all three stakeholders-students, staff and parents cohesively. By fostering this partnership, the program creates a supportive environment where students can thrive emotionally and socially. The program not only benefits students but upskills adults in the research and provides valuable resources and guidance for parents and staff, ensuring a well-rounded approach to emotional learning and growth within our school community. We are proud of our ‘It’s Your Move’ program that enables us to respond to the needs of our students.
